Bar Buzz General Info

      Bar Buzz is an iPhone app aimed at aggregating all of the specials available in locations such as 6th street, west 6th street, and North Austin. It also provides a very targeted advertising tool for businesses special events. Bar Buzz has 4 main sections(tabs) “The Buzz”, Bars, Specials, and Location/Theme.

The Buzz

•       “The Buzz” tab: This is the page where bars showcase their advertisements. This is the first page that the iPhone user sees EVERY time the app is launched. The advertising business is allowed near infinite textual space to describe their upcoming event. When a Promotion is selected the user is shown a screen displaying one click access to contact the event coordinators, get walking or driving directions to the event, and a large open box to display all the information the bar wishes communicate about their event.

Bars Tab

•       This section lists all of the bars in the selected location in alphabetical order. If a bar is selected then the bars contact information is displayed along with a one click ability to get Google maps(walking or driving) directions along with one click to call the bar. This page also shows the viewer what special is going on that night as well as what specials are being offered for the rest of the week. At the bottom of the page I have provided an area where the bar can supply information that would help the viewer get a feel for the atmosphere of the bar. Things that might be included in this area are dress code restrictions, type of music played, and age restrictions 18/21.

Specials tab

•        This tab displays all of the specials currently going on in the selected location. If a special is selected, the app displays the bar’s contact information, a map button(Google Maps), phone number, and the rest of the week’s specials for the selected bar.

Settings tab

•       In this tab the user is able to change their location to any other currently available location. If a user selects a different location than what they are currently viewing, all of the information is reloaded throughout the app. There are also many eclectic themes to help personalize each individuals experience with this app.
